Event Description:
Temple Beth Am in San Jacinto To Hold Community Passover Celebration with Traditional Seder Temple Beth Am, a Jewish congregation in the San Jacinto Valley, will hold a community Passover Seder on Friday, April 14, 2017, at 6:30 pm.. The eight-day holiday, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, commemorates God’s deliverance of the Jewish people from bondage in Egypt. The Torah, in Exodus 13:3 and Leviticus 23:5, gives instruction as to when and how the event should occur. Matzah, an unleavened flatbread made solely from flour and water, is a traditional food eaten during the holiday. The dough is continually worked so that the bread does not rise. The matzah is a reminder of the haste in which the exodus from Egypt happened. Temple Beth Am’s spiritual leader, Bill Trujillo, will conduct the Seder, the prescribed telling of the story of Passover. The holiday celebration includes a traditional meal, meant to add meaning to the remembrance. Those who wish to experience a Passover Seder are welcomed to attend. Reservations are required. The synagogue website is www.templebethamsj.org. Call (951) 445-0502 or email: templebethamsanjacinto@yahoo.com. The donation is $20 for non-members and $15 for members to cover the cost of the meal. Temple Beth Am has served the San Jacinto Valley since 1962. The synagogue is located at 20520 State Street at Soboba Road.
